Vivir con Acidez: A Satirical Dispatch
Revista Factum is one of the leading investigative journalism outlets in Central America. However, due to the nature of its content, it faces two challenges: 1) it does not cover breaking news and can easily leave the top of minds of audiences in between investigations; and 2) it was not addressing lesser informed audiences who may not consume long-form journalism.
As a content strategist for Factum, I designed a daily dispatch named Vivir con acidez (a Spanish play on words, meaning both living with bitterness and living with acid reflux).
In this dispatch, we presented the most relevant news of the day, along with witty remarks and sarcastic takes on daily issues, both locally and internationally.
For a year and a half, I wrote daily scripts which were presented by a fellow journalist, who added his snark to one of the most successful and consistent products among independent outlets in recent history. In TikTok alone, this product drove over 1.5 million interactions and became a ‘fan favorite.’
